Provision of encapsulated scaffold access and temporary roof to provide full protection from the elements.

We were contracted to supply and erect scaffolding to the full perimeter of the academy with full temporary roof coverage and encapsulated elevations. With a full site team of 26, over 1700 tonnes of traditional tube and fitting was installed all around the building including 58 chimney stacks, as well as protection to 305 windows. Roof sections were prefabricated at ground level using the HAKI roof system before being lifted into place using a mobile crane and once complete they provided a fully watertight work area. The onsite team were also involved in the scaffold protection and encapsulation of the chapel organ, during which no scaffolding was to touch the delicate interior and structure of the building which was protected by scaffold tube caps and foams.

To allow the building to maintain business as usual operations the scaffold face was covered with a specialist protective wrap, which contained an image of the academy. Our in house design team were an integral part of our success as measurements of elevations had to be meticulous to enable the roof sections to sit correctly.
