Enigma-is looking to recruit an Apprentice Scaffold Design Engineer to join the Design Department Team located in Glasgow and help support the business. Reporting to the Design and Engineering Manager, you will be assisting with the design of all types of access and industrial scaffolding projects.
Your primary objective will be to assist the in-house team with producing engineered drawings using the latest AutoCAD software supported by structural calculation analysis software. To ensure all design documentation is in accordance with the company procedures including any relevant British and European Standards. This will involve liaising both externally with client representatives and internally with company operations, QSHE and engineering personnel to facilitate the production of accurate compliant designs.
The role will require attending university on a weekly day release basis as part of a BSc/BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering Graduate Apprenticeship (SCQF Level 10) course starting in September 2023 and will typically take up to 4 years to complete.
The Apprentice Scaffold Design Engineer position provides the perfect opportunity to get paid and gain new practical skills and knowledge while you learn with more than three-quarters of workplace learning counting towards your qualification so you can gain your degree faster. Also, the graduate apprenticeship uses modern blended learning techniques and industry-led projects to limit the number of exam-based assessments. Additionally, you will learn about the practical application of digital technologies for creating efficient digital workflows on the course, to equip you with the knowledge and skills to enhance construction productivity performance.

• Scottish Highers:
Standard Entry Requirements: ABBB (114 UCAS Tariff points) including Maths and one Science subject.
Minimum Entry Requirements: BBBB (108 UCAS Tariff points) including Maths and one Science subject.
• A level’s: BBC (112 UCAS Tariff points) including Maths and one Science subject plus GSCE English and one other Science subject.
• Irish Leaving Certificate: H1 H2 H2 H2 plus Maths and English.
• Foundation Apprenticeship/Modern Apprenticeship (with additional Scottish Highers as required).
• Others: Applicants may also be considered with other academic, vocational, or professional qualifications deemed to be equivalent to those above.
• SQA HNC-D / BTEC Level 4-5 HNC-D: Level of entry and or credit awarded being subject to the content of the programme.
As part of the apprenticeship scheme, you will be required to attend work placements, with operations on-sites, working towards gaining valuable practical experience.
