Gender Pay Gap Supporting Statement - Year 2022-23
We are an employer required by law to carry out Gender Pay Reporting under the Equality Act 2010 (Gender Pay Gap Information) Regulations 2017.
This involves carrying out various calculations that show the difference between the average earnings of men and women in our businesses it will not involve publishing individual employee data.
We are required to publish the results on our own website and the government gender pay website. We will do this within one calendar year from April 5th each year.
We can use these results to assess:
- the levels of gender equality in our workplace.
- the balance of male and female employees at different levels.
- how effectively talent is being maximised and rewarded.
- the challenge in our businesses is to eliminate any gender pay gap.
- Continued structured pay reviews.
- Acknowledging and challenging the unconscious bias
Enigma Industrial Services Limited is one of the UK’s leading providers of Industrial Services and Access specialists servicing UK industries since 1935, across industrial, construction, housing, infrastructure, energy & power, agrochemical and food & beverage sectors.
As you will see, the industry is quite heavily male dominated as traditionally our sector has not been an area that females have entered into when selecting a career, with fewer females choosing to work in the construction sector. We tend to see that at the lower end of the quartile there are a higher percentage of females within the industry which tends to be the less technical roles.
Gender Pay Reporting requires our businesses to make calculations based on employee gender. We will establish this by using our existing HR and weekly/Monthly PAYE payroll records.
